I have lost this lady in 1871.

She was born in Portsea in 1830.
She married James Rattenbury in Droxford in 1873.

I can't find her on FMP.
Any help appreciated.

Yes, Jess. She married James Rattenbury, a widower with a daughter.

I found her in 1861 as a housekeeper to William Cards at the union workhouse Portsmouth. Have you followed the family through to see if she is still there?

Anne, thanks for looking.

That must be a different Emma because my Emma is visiting her married sister with her father in 1861.

See 1891 Census. William Coles (b.1822) and Julia (from Aust) are listed as visitors with James and Emma Rattenbury in Waterloo, Hampshire

David, I hadn't thanked you for this before as I was completely engrossed in going back a generation with my Purkis ancestors!

Many thanks for all your help.
