Can anyone tell me where this address is? It should be in the UK:

Have a look at the 9th entry on this incoming passenger list for Grace Wells:

her UK addy looks like 175 Union Street, Sandforth, but what's that written between Street and Sandforth and where is Sandforth? I found what I thought was the addy on Google maps, but turned out it was in Sandford, Lanarkshire and I hadn't noticed the spelling variation!

I can't see the page (it just takes me to the page that says 'pay up' - probably because I'm with the Australian site).
I've looked in a brilliant atlas that OH has and there's no sign of Sandforth, a few Sandfords though in Glos, Devon, Cumbria

There is a Sandforth Moor in Durham so presumably there was a Sandforth village there at one time

I think its just a capital R and then the word in.

Edit to say: whats her embarking port, which country? Okay I see it now Montreal.

I know this is a long shot because I have no idea how long we have had bases in Germany but there is a Sandforth base in Germany! :)

Hmmmm....the base in Germany was al I got when I googled!

Not sure if it could be there - it's supposed to be a UK address, but I dounbt it was checked!!

What would that mean? I can only think of Royal Marines!

I couldn't decide if it said 'RM' or 'R in'.

I did look through all the pages of people on that ship looking to see if anyone else gave the same address - I was thinking she might have been a maid of someone else on board, but couldn't see anything.
