Hi Jood....do you know when or where Jane married William?

No I dont Libby :( - but the daughter Jane Galloway married in Paisley Renfrewshire 22 Feb 1824, (a domestic servant) and her husband lived there (Peter Grieve/Greive) - so I'd say it would be around there somewhere.

William Galloway was a Warper.

I'd be inclined to get some Scotland's People credits (cheap now with the dollar being so high) and find the marriage. I've found some with all the parents named...but others with none, so it's luck of the draw, but could be helpful.

Is she listed as Galloway in all the census??

Some of mine stayed with their maiden names.

If you come across any Gordons from Banff/Cabrach area, I probably have the tree.....lol

I havent looked at any census for that family - where do I go? lol.

I'm pretty sure they stayed around Paisley - but not sure how far away your Banff/Cabrach area is.

Cabrach is Highlands/Grampians area.

I'll have a look at the census. They are on Ancestry but not the images...they are on SP.

Thanks Libby - I don't have Ancestry.

Not sure what the significance of High Paisley is to just Paisley - maybe up the hill a bit lol

Can't find anyone who fits them in 1841/51.

Of course looking for a Jane Gordon is easy...it's getting the right one that's hard...lol

She may have died before 1841 - I dont have a death cert so can't be sure.

Sorry I can't help Libby - this is a tricky one.
