Have you found her on all the censuses 1841 - 1871, Libby? And do you have her parents' names from her baptism?
*waves to Libby* as Grace must have known my ancestor Susan Helmer. Born in the same village & married the previous year.

Libby, is this Charlton, of Charlton Mackrell and Charlton Adam?
If so, that would be an odd coincidence as I have posted my Hockey/Dauncey families for the similar time period and same place.
Also Susan Helmer from Charlton, too. What a small world. Off to look for records.

I thought Libby already had her baptism at Charleton, according to her original post? We might be best to wait till she manages to dig out all her info and see what she has and what she's missing.
I'm here......but now I'm not sure. It seems to be one of those "where on earth did I get that info?" situations....lol
I'm looking and shall report back...

She was the only Grace I found for that time, though you probably have the birth as Kate says. Dartmouth is not really that close to Charleton. I had no luck with the husband either or the marriage or the census for 1841.
The baptism isn't showing here:

Ge...I love this board.....you get to see hwo much trash and rubbish you have on some people......lol
I honestly have no idea where I got most of what i have on this lady.
The facts are........ her marriage.....lol
The baptism for Grace Blackler Mudge may well be her....I really don't know how to know for sure.
In 1851 she is here
Class HO 107, Piece 1874, Folio 437, Page 3.
John, Grace and Sarah Mitchelmore.
I think I found her husband in 1871 but can't find them in 1861.
I can't find her death either......lol
The John who is with Grace in 1851 is a widower in 1861 and 1871, so she can't have died in 1879!
I wonder if this is her?
Name:
Grace Muchmore
Year of Registration: 1854
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-De
District: Kingsbridge
County: Devon

Her place of birth is Dartmouth in 1851 so that fits better with that bap posted earlier.
Sorry, Merry.......I did see that the death wasn't her.........wonder who it is????
I've got them in 1841 as well now...HO107, Piece 211, Book 6.
There are two John Mitchelmore/Michelmore/Muchmore/etc born about 1790 in Sherford. The "other" one seems to be something to do with ships and married to Elizabeth.

Oh so that means the 1871 man I looked at was the wrong one.
Sorry (again) Merry.
I don't have John in 1871.
In 1861, he is a toll collector.....the 'other' on is a ship owner. I can only find the ship owner in 1871.
I'm fairly sure that's right as John is an AgLab in 1841....and in 1861 the "ship owner" has a wife named Elizabeth.
I think I need a cuppa and a lie down...lol
I see your chap was in Kingsbridge district in 1861 so perhaps this is his death:

I take it you are in contact: http://www.mitchelmore.info/families/trees/tree09.htm
