Missing MARK LARDNER

Mark Lardner (variation may be Larner) born c1845 Oxfordshire

Can't find him in 1861 or 1871. Then after 1891 he disappears again and I can't find a death.
Can't find his birth registration either!

Can anyone help me??

There is quite a bit of Oxfordshire missing from the 1861 census, including places such as Combe (where Mark's grandmother was born) and Stonesfield, which are near to Han(d)borough (where the family were in 1851). So Mark may well have been in one of the "missing" places. Have you found the rest of his family in 1861?

His birth may not have been registered as it wasn't compulsory at the time.

Any idea what his dad was up to in 1871? Ann is at home, but shown as head, while William is missing.

Sorry, can't help with this fellow, but if you ever come across Patrick, Esther and son, John Lardner, they went to NSW in 1841.

Phoneix that looks like it could be him! Their surnames seem to change from Lardner to Larner to Lamer.

No idea where William was in 1871, have searched but to no avail. Have had trouble pinpointing him in 1841 before he was married.

I assume this is William in 1841: HO107 piece 890 folio 1/28 page 28

in Swan St Long Handborough, with parents John & Elizabeth & brother Mark (relationships assumed)

I looked for Mark in FMP Soldier records, but didn't find anything, though that simply meaans he wasn't discharged to a pension.
