wendy....merry yes john was born 1846..im trying to see if this is the dennis on his marriage certs as john married twice and father on first was a farmer land owner and deceased and on second deceased and had independant means...so i was hoping in some way i can put the 2 together.because john was born mills street cork.we have been to mills street and its one long road only.local vicer couldnt help us as we thought he would be buried in this graveyard as he died i beleive in ireland...if not then in london when john came to london as a young boy.brenda xxx

Hmmmm, the Denis in Cullen is still there in 1840 (he needs to move soon if he's John's father!), listed in A topographical dictionary of Ireland 1840. His home was called Derrigh.

Oh no, you'r OK - there must be more than one place called Millstreet as that last ref has it only 3½ miles from Cullen (page 442)

the mill street we went to was one road at one end was the cathalick church and the other end was a kingdom hall lol.but pubs plenty.it was still in the dark ages.an american rellie who i found is coming to london on the 8th april and were meeting and im taking all i have to show here.the names it mentions is in some papers i have so its the right denis but is it johns dad?thats the big question.i dont know whether we will know for sure unles he came with the young john to england.thankyou merry brenda xxxlol brenda xxxx

merry we have johns police papers when he was an inspector and a paper cutting when he died,other than his marriage certs we have nothing else as he was born in ireland.but on the mariage certs it say father denis deceased on both,but one a farmer,and the othe of independant means.we have an old letter written 1900,from one brother to the other when in the army,brenda xxx
