Can anyone explain how a child is half baptised? If it his top or bottom half? Lol!! :d

It's another way of saying 'privately baptised' (ie at home)

I think it was usually an emergency baptism at home for a child who was not expected to live so it could be buried in consecrated ground. It did not involve godparents.

Ooooo that's interesting, thanks. It appears he lived long enough to grow up & get married though :)

The entry on the register is for the date when he was received into the church as it says in the note "... and received as above".
