What was the child's name, Wendy?

It was Rebecca Finnis. According to census, born 1805 St Osyth, Essex. Married in 1828 to Abraham Allen in City of London.

There is a couple on the 1851 and 1861 censuses at Saffron Hill, Abraham and Rebecca Allen, Abraham born Bury / Suffolk and Rebecca born St Andrews Middlesex / Docks London. Their oldest son in 1861 is William age 30 born Holborn. Are you sure they're not the couple who got married in 1828 in London? The marriage was at St Andrew Holborn.

Then the other Abraham and Rebecca are at Weeley, Essex, in 1861, both born St Osyth, with daughter Emma age 12 born Weeley. Am I right in thinking that's your family?

Yes Emma Allen is my OH's GGG Grandmother.

I wasn't sure if I had the right couple as they were married in London. I haven't really done much research on this couple.

You could try contacting this person to ask her to have a look for Abraham Allen marrying a Rebecca at St Osyth? But it looks as though the web page is 8 years old so I don't know whether she still does lookups.
