Thank you Merry.

Can I ask a really dumb question???? I will anyway......lol

Where did you find them? I had both of those dates but couldn't find them anywhere officially.

***waits for Merry to tell me it was one of the places I searched***

The marriage is from the IGI on Family Search (I entered his name and her surname and asked for marriages - results one)

The baptism is from the FS Pilot Site. (I entered her name and the name of the parish - results one)

There are other baps for siblings in the same parish, including a Mary, but I'm not sure why anyone would think Sarah's name was Mary? Have you seen her recorded as Mary anywhere?

Never seen her recorded as Mary except on a couple of Ancetsry trees......and one son's death cert. That was in Australia in 1932 so I think I could discount that. An elderly uncle has her as Sarah Mary.

Now...I looked on both those sites.........lol

I am convinced that Sarahs are recorded as Mary because of Chinese Whispers.

I have several instances of this in my tree. Best example is burial of Mary, death certificate for Sarah.

I think it must have been for women known as Sairey and misheard or misremembered.

There is a will for Edward in 1876. His name is spelled Mundey and his effects were under £600. Sole executrix was Sarah.

Well you are known as Merry..is that close enough??????? lol

Thank you so much.

Mundey was the spelling those who came to Australia always used and until I found so many as Mundy in England, I thought it always had the 'e'.

No worries......now maybe I can find the will.
