Can anyone find George Panormo in the 1851 census, please.

I have him in 1841as born c1771 in Foreign Parts. Living in St Giles in the Fields (there are only two hits - him and his son)

I've just found an 1852 death on LMA which could possibly be him. Age is 76 but given rounding down it's feasible. But I can't see him in 1851 to see if there's any better information about his place of birth.

Very grateful for any help. He's only a twig but placing him geographically might help one of my more confusing main branches.

well - 1851 says he was born in Middlesex so it's absolutely no help whatsoever

Just trying to load the image in case it's a mistranscription but it's taking an age

Well I guess that could be classed as "Foreign Parts" to some! :d

The 1851 image says St Martins, Middlesex!!

If he was born at St Martins he might have been baptised there, but if you look under Westminster here: London, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812, they don't have St Martins available. :(

Aaaaah - that will be why all of my Glosters are missing too.

I didn't think St Martins was Westminster though. I'd have put it in Camden. As soon as my connection improves I can look properly. At the minute I keep getting half pages and 5 minutes to refresh

The reason I thought Westminster was that I went to the 1851 census and loked up someone living in St Martin in the Fields - when I looked at the census page is said it was in the "City or Borough of Westminster".

There's also St Martin Ludgate in the City of London, but I'm not sure someone would call that Middlesex rather than City?

It probably is Westminster as it's about 200 yards from the end of The Mall. I was working from the other direction in my calculations as it's the end of Charing Cross Road which runs up into Camden
