My 2 x GGF, Thomas Bell was illegitimate and his marriage cert has a blank line where father's name should be.
Thomas Bell was born in c 1827, Carlisle, Cumberland. There are many Thomas Bells in the area so I cannot pin him down (at least three of them are illegitimate and as I don't know his mother's name either, it's a problem).
1841 - Thomas Bell not identified.
1851-1881, Thomas Bell is a painter/beerseller, at the Derby Inn, Barnes Green, Blackley, Manchester.
Thomas married 1. Mary Woodhead 2. Eliza unknown (maybe Whittaker)
Thomas was NOT the son of Richard Bell, found in Carlisle in 1841 - that Thomas is still at home with his parents in 51 and 61.
