Ever thought about helping to transcribe those old handwritten documents so they can be indexed and searched online?
There are various transcription projects going on which you might like to consider (please post details of any more that you know of):
FreeBMD, which I'm sure needs no introduction!
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/Signup.html
And its sister projects:
FreeCEN (censuses)
http://www.freecen.org.uk/
and FreeREG (parish registers)
http://www.freereg.org.uk/
CLIPS crew lists (oops, haven't done any of that since I got back from my holiday!):
http://www.crewlist.org.uk/whatnext.html
Family Search Indexing
http://www.familysearchindexing.org/home.jsf
Ancestry World Archives Project
http://community.ancestry.co.uk/wap/download.aspx
(sorry but I have heard the software used for this isn't compatible with the Apple Mac yet).
