I was a bit confused by your transcription of the 1851 entry so I looked at the image and it gives his birthplace as Glamorgan Llangenith, in case anyone else is wondering. But it looks like a nightmare to sort out! There's another John Thomas, cordwainer the same age, born Llangennith and living in Llanrhidian with a wife Jane, and there are several possible birth regs for William and Henry.

I hate to be the bringer of bad tidings, but I think Llanrhidian switched from Swansea to Gower district in 1858 and if you include the deaths in Swansea up to 1858 that's another 80 or so possibles...........

You can see what a nightmare Welsh genealogy is! I once spent ages looking for a gt x lots grandmother of ex's called Jennet, tried Janet which its often misrecorded as, found it as Gennet! In one census I have a whole street with several men with the same name and wives with the same name. No idea which - if any - is the one I want, or if the others are all related, or not!
