I haven't researched John myself and most of the information has been obtained from other researchers, except the birth of Sarah Nightingale (OH's 2xgt grandmother) which I found on Ancestry last year.

Name - "official" name and what they were known as
John Read Nightingale

Date and place of birth
unknown - possibly c. 1782 if the burial below is correct

Names of parents
Possibly John Nightingale and Anne Read who married on 5 October 1773 at Tolleshunt Knights, Essex, according to the IGI.

Date and place of baptism
unknown

Details of each of his or her marriages
To Mary Lane
9 September 1807 Whitby Yorkshire

Another researcher mentions a possible second marriage, and I found this on the Beta site this morning, but it appears that this marriage can't be proved from the registers:
Groom's Name: John Read Nightingale
Bride's Name: Jane Young
Marriage Date: 27 Jan 1828
Marriage Place: Kent, England
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: I00355-5
System Origin: England-EASy

There is a suggestion that this entry is the banns and not the marriage.
