Died between 1851 and 1861 Census, possibly Cheltenham, as husband died there in 1863.

An Elizabeth Milton died Mar Q 1868 in Cheltenham aged 61 6a 288 [ie DoB 1807] - cant be right one, but there are no others. A Mary Elizabeth Milton died Dec Q 1851 in Cheltenham, but on GlosBMD gives age as 30 days. Cannot see an Elizabeth Molton on death index either

Can you give us some more information about the daughter born 1816 Taunton, please? I don't know of a Taunton in Devon; can you say where the information is from?

Thanks for looking Kite.

Daughter Maria Milton married John Francis Harper, 30 Jun 1844 in Cheltenham. She was of full age and a spinster of 5 King Street, father John Milton, Stonemason. John Portlock and Ann Milton [sister b 1817] were witnesses.

From Census: In 1851 Maria Harper, was living in Cheltenham, aged 31 [b1820] b Taunton, Devon, with sons Charles and John.
In 1861 she and husband are in Cheltenham, Maria aged 46 [b1815] b Taunton, Somerset.
By 1871 she is a widow, aged 57 b Taunton, Somerset.

Oh, I thought it must be Maria but I wanted to check before trying to find a baptism for her etc. So she was probably born in Taunton, Somerset. Thanks!

Yes, sorry, Kite, I should have put in a bit more detail - I did post a bit quick. I realised she meant Somerset from the other census entries.

The FamilySearch pilot site keeps breaking every time I look on there! But I can't see anything on there to help in between it breaking.

Thanks for looking Kite. I don't get much luck with the Pilot site - returns too many results for my liking that are completely out the the time frame I've given it!

I did find a possible marriage of a John Milton to an Elizabeth Hanaver, 1 Apr 1813 at Lustleigh, Devon. I have no idea whether it is the right one though.

Yes, I spotted that one but I couldn't find a baptism for an Elizabeth Hanaver.

Oh, that's right - that couple had a daughter Mary baptised 12 Jan 1816 at Lustleigh. So probably not your couple but not definitely ruled out yet, I suppose.

Oh, well spotted. Think they might be hard to track down though as there are quite a few John Miltons around!
