I'm following quite a tenuous connection, and probably adding two and two together to make about 25, but anyway, can anybody find these people on any census, BMD's, any children they had, or anything other than their marriage, please? Obviously there's not much point looking for Jessie Clark before the marriage as there are too many possibles. But I was expecting a name like Von Tage to be easier to track!

St James the Great, Bethnal Green, Mar 10 1884

Henry Von Tage, full age, bachelor, Bricklayer, residence Bethnal Green, father Henry Von Tage, Bricklayer.
And Jessie Clark, age 20, spinster, residence Bethnal Green, father George Clark, deceased.
Witnesses were James Edward Askew and Elizabeth Mary Webb.

Got them on the 1901 census in Canada just listed as Tage and there are more children. Just looking for 1891 now.

Well done Margaret! I had a look for them in America but never thought of Canada :o

Do we suppose Henry wasn't here for too long before he married Jessie and that is why there doesn't seem to be any further ref to him?

The Canadian census shows him born in England in 1855 so he should show on 1861, 71 and 81 then he marries in 1884 and after that off to Canada.
He says his parents are both born in Germany.

The 1901 census record shows they arrived in Canada in 1885, although I can't see them on any passenger lists.
