Ooh, that looks promising, Elizabeth! Burnham Deepdale is in between Brancaster and Burnham Norton! Unfortunately the Burnham Deepdale PR's don't seem to be available to browse on the pilot site, but that does look good. Robert and Maria didn't name a daughter Alice, but they only had one daughter, Elizabeth, we think named after Maria's mother.

Yes, I've just been looking at all those, Elizabeth, thanks. Think it (post 7)'s supposed to say Burnham Sutton cum Burnham Ulph, lol.

Ah, Susanna Frere looks likely to be John Annis's sister as there is a Robert Frary / Susanna Annis marriage in 1806. This is going to keep me busy for some time! Thank you so much, Elizabeth! That branch of OH's tree has been stuck for so long.

I'm pleased to be able to help you - it's usually the other way around!

I think you would have found them anyhow.:)

Ooh, there's a Charles Annis in Burnham Overy, and one of Robert's children was called Charles, so it is looking good. There seem to be quite a few Annises in Burnham Overy. I've looked at the image of the burial for John Annis jr in 1825 at Burnham Sutton cum Burnham Ulph now, and he was age 9, abode "Burnham".

I came on to try and see if I could help but Elizabeth beat me to it!

Can I ask which site you looked at the image for the burial on? Not sure if it is Free Reg, Family Search Beta or Family Search Pilot.

There aren't any images on FreeREG as far as I know, Tom. I looked at it on FamilySearch Record Search pilot site. And I've just found what looks like John Annis's baptism on the same site, and I'm so grateful for the images!

And, nothing to do with OH's family, as far as I know, but I just love this note on the page after that baptism:

Please to observe that Joseph Duffeild, & the other children of Robert Nelson & Catherine his wife, are no Relations whatever, to the Family of the Revd Edmund Nelson, Rector of this Parish.

Very good Kate!

Just wish I could work out how to see the images. Have put a thread on research asking for instructions.
