good morning...I have in Garston
Joannis Tipping marrying Ann Lowe ...both born 1771 in Woolton (Childwall Parish)...2 miles away from Garston..they married on 11th Jan 1789 and came to Garston..
....Anns parents as Rowland Lowe and Jane Higginson..
BUT...I have just found the marriage of
Rowland LOW and Jane Hiigginson 24th August 1771....in Childwall, extracted record......so Ann Lowe/Low was I presume born after 1771.....
Anns first child was born 1789....and she had 10 children...
It really isn`t that important, but....I can`t find Anns babtism on Familysearch or lan-opc......any ideas??...
I just want to have correct year of birth for Ann who was my 3 x g grandmother here in Garston....thanks in advance......allan:)

Sorry, Allan, are you saying that Ann can't have been born in 1771 because her parents got married in August of that year? In my tree, on many lines, nearly everyone seems to have had their first child either before they got married or only a few months after their marriage.

If you don't have a baptism for Ann, how do you know that Rowland and Jane are her parents?

The Tipping-Lowe marriage was on 11 January 1789 (not 1779) in Childwall, Lancashire. The IGI shows the husband's name as John; Jo(h)annis would be the Latin version.

The Childwall BTs are on the IGI, and the only child shown for Rowland and Jane is Mary, born and baptised in 1775.

There is also a Millicent Low with parents Rowland and Jane, baptised in Marston-Upon-Dove, Derbyshire in 1779 - could that be the same family?

Sorry folks...got commandeered to go out .....right...1789 not 1779...typo error..
I have been given Rowland and Jane as Anns parents by another so called descendant of Ann and Joannis.....I DID NOT have Rowland and Jane in my tree ......so obviously ,this person has given me the wrong info...that`s what I am actually doing ...checking out the info I have been given...I was rather pleased as well, thinking they had given me another generation.....so...thank you all...I couldn`t find a babtism for Ann Lowe.....I was hoping someone else might.....thank you all.....allan:)

They may very well have given you the correct info, Allan. I see that John and Ann had a son called Roland, so it looks promising. Maybe you could ask your contact whether they have details of Ann's baptism?

It's on the FamilySearch Record Search pilot site, listed as Rolandus Tipping, baptised 27 Sep 1791 St Mary Woolton, Liverpool, born Garston, parents Joannis Tipping and Anna Tipping. The baptism entry is evidently in Latin. It looks as if St Mary Woolton is a Catholic church? The other children on there are:
Thomas born 22 Aug 1789, christened 23 Aug 1789
Richardus (= Richard) born 2 May 1793 baptised 5 May 1793
Joannes (= John) born 23 Nov 1795 christened 29 Nov 1795
Jacobus (= James? or Jacob?) born 6 Feb 1798 christened 11 Feb 1798
Joanna (= Jane? or Joan?) born 5 Oct 1800 christened 8 Oct 1800
Gulielmus (= William) born 12 Feb 1805 christened 17 Feb 1805
Edwardus (= Edward) born 4 Jun 1807 christened 7 Jun 1807
Maria (= Mary?) born 15 Dec 1815 christened 17 Dec 1815
Josephus (= Joseph) born 6 Jan 1811 christened 20 Jan 1811

If Ann was Catholic then it could well be that her baptism isn't online as a lot of them aren't.

Thanks Kiterunner.....I think Ann was Catholic because when they married her husband was transcribed as Joannis - in latin ...and not John, which I would expect in Cof E church....thanks for your help....
MARY b 1815 (the youngest) is my direct ancestor......allan:)
ADDED....for the record...I have all the correct birth years, but I didn`t have their babtism dates...Jacobus is James and Joanna is Jane...thanks again Kiterunner...the babtism dates is a huge bonus,,,,cheers...allan
