does anyone know when deportation ended? I have it suggested that someone may have been deported but I doubt it because it would be after 1901:confused:

Yes, I agree with Kate, deportation is still an option in this country (and many others).


EDIT - are you maybe thinking of transportation, which was ended in the 1800s?

Thanks, so it wouldn't have applied then although that's not to say he wasn't locked up somewhere as I've not managed to kill him off.

Tranportation to the American colonies ended in 1776, to Australian colonies in the 1840s, although some arrived in WA up till the 1860s I think

It was ended in 1853 in Australia.
