Can anyone make out what is written here please? - it's on the last page of the Baptism/marriage/burials register. I can see

"..................1728....................John Bory(?)................ Lawrence Randall of Banningham calling...........

160

thanks :)

EDIT - oops - how do I make it bigger??

You don't need to make it bigger, Sarah, because when someone clicks on it they will see it bigger.

I can't decipher any more of it than you could, though, sorry!

I think I also got these words Sarah .... I printed it off from the original online and then put it up to a window .... still mostly unintelligible though.... so frustating!

"..................1728 (8 or 2?)....................Joh n Bory(?) James son ............... of Lawrence Randall of Banningham calling him (roofs???)........... and (resale???) ............. ............. .................. Aylsham .................................... Aylsham ............................... James no?son

I think that surname might be Berry rather than Bory.

Sad thing is, I can remember looking at the original registers which would have been perfectly legible.

I think the last word is Nelson.

Or is it Wilson?

Ooh is he calling him rogue & Raskell?

I think the bit at the top is a date Aprell 8 1726

John Berry Junr sends ... of Lawrence Randell of Benningham calling him

....................

Aylsham

Will Emson Junr
James Wilson

But I haven't managed to make out the main bit of it yet!

There was a Randall hung in North Norfolk for sheep stealing ..... could we be getting close?

I have a better version - the rogue and raskell may well be right. Another Randall has put this through an image maker and sent me a jpeg file. Can anyone tell me how to upload it?

Jessica
