Any chance anyone is visiting Stafford Record Office?

I need a look up on the electoral registers for 1918-1926 for Burton on Trent. They don't hold them at Burton Library and Stafford charge £22 an hour. :eek::eek:

oh my days £22 per hour is a bit extreme. I remember enquiring with Landican cmetery for a look up as they hold records for various cemetries in Wirral. They wanted £40+ before they even looked. Thanks goodness for kind and willing fellow researchers.

That charge is just for the privilege of touching their books. About 10 years ago my OH went through all of their records himself at no charge. They are now just jumping on the bandwagon because this hobby is so popular.
