View Full Version : Sort out one of my old residents please
Who told him I was interested in this lark? lol!
Births Dec 1931
Moore John C MMn James Newmarket 3b 596
His ****her had something to do with Bletchley park, and someone, somewhere was an undertaker.
Oh, and his father was Irish!
Mother was callled Edna
Uh Huh!
PMSL! Well, Jess.....I presume he is still alive lol! (and therefore we have to remove his details unless he told you you could tell them to us?!!!!!)
There's no obvious Edna James marrying a Mr Moore that I can see at the mo. Maybe they were both Irish?
Oh yes, its fine. he's very much still alive and giving me a hard time on a regular basis, but no he's cool
I cant find his parents marriage either
Jess, try and find out if he knows when either of his parents died and where they lived. You might have to prod a bit by the sound of it. Or is he one of those who wants to show you you won't find anything because he won't tell? I bet he knows his dad's first name!
You could ask his siblings names maybe? I bet he was an only child.....
Well, he thinks some neph somewhere is back to 1841, he wanted to get a bit further ( he did lol!)
How have we drawn a blinking blank already!????
I did ask when his mother was born - 1900 but didnt ask where.... DOH!
Well, maybe his mother was previously married so her wedding to Mr Moore would be in a different surname. Maybe Edna wasn't her first forename or was a nickname?
I'm sure there would be no problem if he would just tell you a bit more detail. Some of these would be good:
Dad's first name(s)
When and where mum and dad died
Their birthdays
Any siblings for John
Order of siblings
Any half siblings
Check it's def Edna and not Emma, could you?!
I can do you John Moore to Emma James in 1931 at Newport Pagnell. (just thought he might be named for his father?)
I saw them, I wont see him now until wednesday, i see him quite enough at work, so wont be ringing him on my days off.
I guess they will just have to wait

Jess many years ago I helped with a research project trying to find a link between alzheimer's and down's syndrome. Part of it involved trying to work out a family tree for patients with alzheimer's who had a relative with Down's syndrome.
It was not uncommon for people to mix up their siblings and children. Does your chap have any old photos you could ask about?
He's perfectly sound in his head, its his arthritis that does him in.
I think thats his parents marriage - newport pagnell would be the right reg area too.
he was an only one.
So what about that Emma James as a child, should be living in Bletchley, He says she was born 1900
( his father WAS John, John James)
got to be.....

Struggling to find that Hall family after 1841. Can't see them as a family group but there are a few possible strays suggesting they may have been split up.
