I think I've found David Miller's death June 1869 Hendon.

The age is correct and the area is good.

I've checked FMP for death duties, but can't find any that look good enough to be happy with.

If he left a will (I'm sure he would have) would FMP have the him on the death duties for sure??? I've checked 1869 and 1870.

Thanks.

Nothing on Ancestry's probate calendar

The next year to have some gaps after 1869 is 1873, so it would be unlucky if his will was proved then.

If this had been posted a few minutes earlier, I would have checked 1873 at the record office! Oh well. I think the death duties index would list him if the size of his estate was big enough for probate or administration to need to be granted by the court, regardless of whether he left a will or not. So if he isn't listed on the death duties register you probably won't find him on the National Probate Calendar either.

No worries, Kite. Thanks for what you've done already..
