There is this other popular site that i belong to but have not been to for ages, however i cant remember its name. Please let me know which ones you belong to and you will help jog my memory. I do know it is free. Its not ftf or genesreunited. People there are also very helpful. Thanks!

Thanks Joy - not sure I have anything to ask at the moment!

Our previous problem was that someone on Rootschat was offering to do particular lookups, but we couldn't see any way to contact them. We were told we had to add our request for help elsewhere and hopefully the original person would see our request (which seemed rather odd). We did that and got no replies. That's all I remember because it was a while ago!

In the past I have belonged to various Yahoo Groups who were transcribing parishes not online anywhere else. I didn't find Yahoo terribly easy to use either lol (must be me) but I did get records I couldn't have found elsewhere.

And I was even thanked on rootschat recently :)

I am subscribed to some rootsweb mailing lists, too, where I have found connections as well as have received help.

I agree with all the above.

One kind soul from Rootschat tramped round a churchyard looking for my 4xg-grandfather - and found him - plus 3 of his children :)

There are some lovely people around.

Fi, I am glad that you are sorted out.

I Myself, having tried various other sites, can honestly say that the help on this forum is second to none. The expertise and knowledge of where to look and how to look has done wonders for my research;)

When I say "this forum" I mean GF, not any other!!!!
