Trying to check the surname of head of household in 1871

Joseph (GUNSON???) H U 45 gen lab born Cumberland
Margaret Jackson sister wid 55
William Sanderson b in law 35 lab
Isabella Sanderson DAU 34 charwoman
Margaret Sanderson granddau 9 b Manchester.

All living at 81 Percival St Manchester.

Hope this is enough to find them! Thankyou.

Looks like Gunson to me.

I suppose you've seen the James Holden in the household above?

FMP has it transcribed as Gunson too.

Yes, that's MY James and we are now investigating the Jackson connection next door - Ellen Holden (James' wife) was nee Grimshaw and her sister Jane Grimshaw married Daniel Jackson. They are at Percival St too, so trying to drag in Margaret Jackson, widowed sister of Joseph Gunson, but not doing very well.... it is probably just coincidence that she is a Jackson, it's a common name after all.
