It's very strange because I'm sure I've seen that image before. I knew his grandson (listed as son) was living with them, so where would I have got that from if it wasn't on Ancestry.
Weird, because I thought I had all the censuses saved on my PC, but that one was missing. I'm really puzzled how I knew his grandson (OH's great uncle) was living with him after his mother died.

Another of life's mysteries:confused:

Have you ever visited a library or CRO and viewed the census on film? I know my great great grandfather is in Exton, Rutland in 1871 but that page isn't on Ancestry or FMP. It was on the film at the Leicester CRO though. This was well before the 1871 was online.

I did visit Devon R O about 6 years ago and I suppose I could have found it there. I used to belong to the Devon Family History Society so maybe I got it from them or one of their members. I really must sort out my older research notes!
