View Full Version : The name Kerenhappuch
I have a Kerenhappuch Curtis (various spellings of the first name) who married a John Taylor in 1815. She died in 1825 and whilst I can find her death and marriage there seems to be little to go on for a birth or ancestral hints.
With such an unusual name I thought that it would have been easy to research - but Vital index, IGI etc give me nothing
Any suggestions?

Hi Hobbes - have you tried looking with a hyphen? http://www.behindthename.com/name/keren01happuch
Well, I hate to state the obvious, but you won't find a birth/baptism record for her if the records are not online for the place concerned!
Where did she marry/die?
Do you know that she was a spinster when she married?
Just seen the marriage (IGI)
Was an age given at her burial?
Is this her burial?

No age has been transcribed, but it should have been recorded in the burial register (in theory!)

She was aged 30 at burial.
She was aged 30 at burial.
Thanks!
So she was under 21 when she married, so unlikely to be a widow, though still possible.

The name Kerenhappuch screams nonconformist records to me!
OC
There are two Karenhappuch somethings on the non-con list. Both are female so it is a name, but neither fit here, sorry.
If she was under 21 when she married she would have needed parental consent. Any clues in her marriage record - who were the witnesses?
Sorry....................ignore my post. I put Karenhappuch not Kerenhappuch.
There is 16 Kerenhappuch somethings on the non-con list. Still none that match......
Hi
The burial and marriage are correct. I probably need to send into the Suffolk records office to get the witnesses to the marriage. I think that's my best start point
Thanks for all your help
