Added a baptism errr found it and some of her siblings they're all over the place but it seems that Samuel Brooks baptised his children willy nilly and when his brother's did. They are Seal Makers (whatever that is I have a clue) I have now found two brothers of Samuel I think - John and William both Seal Makers!

Sue from the Seaside is right it does focus your mind when you post on the TOGGs!

Seal maker - you know, a seal to put in the wax on your letters etc. We don't use them any more, just stamps.

Yes I sort of knew that but was surprised they were still using them as late as 1881 - but I expect for very official documents they were - I have Samuel her oldest brother as a Seal Maker on an 1881 census.
