The same guy was a journalist and printer in 1901 if that helps to discount him further!

Thanks Merry. I have my chap (James Braid) in 1901 and he doesn't seem to be on 1911 but I do have anecdotal evidence that he may have been in France in 1911. The main reason that I asked about Alexander James was the sheer coincidence of their wives having the same name, Minnie :d
