Victorian / Edwardian I think. That's a big time scale I know. 1900 +/- 10 years?

Who do you think it is?

Well it's a weird photo.

It is supposed to be my grandfather's older brother William his only brother all the rest of his siblings were sisters. William was born in 1875.

It's been artificially coloured by the looks of it. It was sent to me by someone in the USA, William never went there but one of his granddaughters married an American and moved there donkeys years ago.

Every time I look, I think of Stan Laurel :confused: - I think it's the hat :confused:

His eyebows somehow look painted on, too

So I think Margaret in Burton is right.

It's unfortunate that someone has tampered with the photo if indeed it is him I must admit he does resemble some of the ancestors of my mum. Having said that perhaps it was taken in the USA as far as I'm aware he never went there. I think it was passed to the USA connection by someone in England.
