in 1871 all still together: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&db=uki1871%2c&rank=0&gsfn=clementina&gsln=&sx=&=%2c%2c1%2c+%2c%2c%2c1%2c+&gs1co=3251%2cEngland&gs1pl=5280%2cOxfordshire&year=&yearend=&sbo=0&sbor=&srchb=r&prox=1&ti=5538&ti.si=0&gss=angs-d&pcat=35&fh=0&h=4902619&recoff=1
by 1881 she is calling herself Clementina Hopkins (down as married)
John Ballard is in the same household but down as a boarder and a widower.

I can't spot her in 1891
In 1901
Richard J Ballard, widower, born Wells Norfolk is the head of the household and Clementina Hopkins, widow, is now his servant
Now I'm pretty certain, despite not finding a marriage, that this is my Clementina as the son, Arthur Ballard, calls one of his children Clement Fenton Ballard (born 1884).
Anyone got any ideas what's going on? And can anyone find out what they're calling themselves in 1891?
Yours in confusion
