Amy Florence Gloster or Florence Selina Gloster or Selina Ann Gloster?

I thought I had asked for help on this before but I've done a search on here and there's no hits so I can't have.

I have a contact who I link with via Frederick George Fenton born 1864, son of Charles Fenton, comedian.

We are each directly descended from one of his children.

Frederick married in 1885 and our research conflicts on who he married.

I have gone with tracing back through certificates and up until now I"ve been happy with my research but the contact has thrown me a bit.

Marriage certificate 22 September 1885:
Frederick George Fenton, 21, son of Charles, comedian.
Florence Selina Gloster, 20, daughter of Charles, Silversmith. (cert says Selaine)


The confusion is arising from the fact there is a name change to Florence so no birth certificate exists for a Florence Selina Gloster.

I have gone with Selina Ann Gloster, daughter of Charles and Jane, contact has gone with Amy Florence G Gloster daughter of Henry and Selina

If anyone has time to trace it back blind i.e. without me telling you what I found pre-marriage, I'd be very grateful.

Pffffft - after all that I just found Amy Florence G Gloster died in 1870.

Don't worry, I enjoyed the challenge. Mind you, I didn't think of looking for the death either - don't know how your contact missed it though! Best go and do some gardening now though. :)
