Does anyone know if Ancestry are going to index the above collection?

Yes, they're supposed to be working on it. But the further back you go, the harder it is to read the writing (well, in general, anyway.) They did a pilot project to see if it would be possible to use the World Archives Project volunteers to index the very early stuff, but it turned out not to be feasible. So I don't know who is actually doing the work.
