I have William, a tin-plate worker (1849) & Martha Webb (1843) living in the Knutsford Inferior/Altricham area.

They had 5 children -

Lydia (1872

Frank (1875)

Alice (1878)

Emily (1880)

Leonard (1894) wrong - 1883!

In 1891, Martha is widowed and living with Emily and Leonard in Altrincham http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/tree/45875/person/-2138519527/fact/9588650271
but I can't find Emily or Leonard in 1901 (I have found the other children).

(Emily married in 1904 and Leonard married in 1914)

Can anyone help please?

Well I've had a look Joan can't find any that even remotely might be them. Have you found Martha? I know you said you've found the other children.

Thanks for looking Maggie :) - I'm relieved that it's not just me who can't find them - no, I haven't found Martha

Where were they born, Joan?

Thanks, Kite

I have Martha as being born in Skoinskay, Flintshire ( I got that from cenus records) - I have her marriage cert to William Webb in 1870 - that was in Nether Knutsford.

I also have Emily and Leonard's birth certs. Her birth was registered in Knutsford, and his in Hulm - so all in the Manchester area, I think.

Don't mention lost Webbs to me - sore subject!!;(

I think they are deliberately trying to avoid being found these Webbs;)

Good Luck,
Elaine

Its okay Joan could still get to the census from the other link.

Joan

There's an awful long gap between Emiily and Leonard! 14 years! Martha would have been 51 years old not unknown but with a 14 year gap unlikely! Have you got a birth cert for Leonard?

Edit: I just realised its a type should read 1883/84! :d

Waait... if Leonard was born in 1894, how could he be with Martha in 1891??

There's no Leonard Wells from Altrincham on the 1891 census or a birth reg for a Leonard Wells in Altrincham district around 1883, so that makes it more likelly, unless that is the wrong place of birth for him as it would be for Leonard Webb!!
