Forgot to say, she is dead by 1861.

And if anyone can see Isaac in 1841 it would be much appreciated!

Oh lol that's funny - Gaac Mole Hew, on the same page as his father, Iaac Mole Lew - I knew I'd seen both of them before, but didn't think to look on the same page! Great transcriptions - good to know Ancestry have a team of professionals!

It seems that Isaac remarried, to Mary Ann. She was buried on ... (sic) May 1894 Holy Trinity. Aged 70

Is there a burial for Isaac Moule in Feb 1854?

Or one for Mary Moule between 1851 and 1861? She was 80 in 1851, but there was more than one death between the censuses.....

*hopeful smile* :)

Your Isaac Moule was Town Crier? I thought I saw this on the census.

Look at this:

page 113 Isaac Moule

Yes, that's right - he was the city crier for 35 years (found on Google books) I had seen that about the fire too, but the format was different (yours is better!)

By George, she's got it! The enumerator couldn't read his own writing. Changed a p into a long s and a short s and an r into an n.

I was going to suggest Poplar because I went on Genuki and it was the only parish that looked remotely likely! Perhaps the enumerator had never heard of it.

Merry

Hooray - Poplar it is then!!

Presumably it was the householder's writing that he couldn't read.

Interesting, but luckily I don't need to go back with Georgiana (as it's the Moules who are the relatives) :D
