Found them in 1851. They are transcribed on Ancestry as Dorley. Found them easily on FMP.

I wonder why I can't find census sometimes I must admit I don't do wildcards very well they never seem to work for me.

Not sure about this one could be him it says AP does that mean apprentice but apprentice of what if it said Brass Finishser up there instead of Cabinet Maker I might be convinced.

No its different to the 1841 Marg found - that one I had seen but wasn't convinced but I think you've found them :) I think its says N for not born in county because they were born in Lambeth which came under Surrey in those days rather than Middlesex.

I think that's them thank you and Marg found the 1851 thank you both very much.

Now I just have to work out if his oldest son is who someone thinks he is :)

The wild card didn't work for me either on this one. Ancestry have them mistranscribed but FMP don't. Sometimes FMP transcriptions are much better.
