How odd!

I have been looking for them in 1841, together with their daughter Mary.

I came across an entry :
Henry Farrington M 20 Do (Roper)
Mary Farrington F 20
Both born in Lancs.

RG number: HO107 Piece: 520 Book/Folio: 8/56 Page: 13

Registration District: Derby, West Sub District: Derby, West
Civil Parish: Walton on the Hill Municipal Borough:
Address: Etna Street, Walton On The Hill, Derby, West County:
Lancashire

It seems rather of a coincidence, but no child with them.

Thank you for looking Elizabeth, according to my notes Mary Ann Farrington was born 1st Q 1841 in Derby, but not baptised til 1847, younger sister Jane is my ancestor.

Henry was born Derby and the marriage is in the 2nd Q of 1841, but i can`t remember what date the census was taken in 1841, so not sure which name to look under.

Edited to say marriage was 1840 not 1841

I'm slightly confused now, because I thought the marriage was in 1840?

So was Mary Lovegrove already Mary Farrington by 1841 or not? LOL!

My appologies Elizabeth, it is 1940, so should be under Farrington

Just been looking to see if Mary Farrington was with her parents, but no, it looks like her father died before 1841 and her mother Ann is living at 11 St Alkmunds Church Yard Derby.

Are you saying thats not your Mary Lovegrove married to Henry Farrington because you're expecting to see Mary Ann Farrington born 1st Q 1841 in Derby with them?

Maggie, the Henry and Mary Farrington that Elizabeth found were in West Derby, Lancashire, but that's nowhere near Derby, Derbyshire, where Gert's couple should be.

Ahh West Derby Liverpool.

Sorry I got confused and I didn't look at the image referenced.

Hi Maggie,

I had put the wrong year in the above post 1841 should be 1840 and was trying to say the daughter Mary Ann Farrington was born in Derby Derbyshire, so thats where the family should be in 1841.

PS. got myself confused too, by putting the wrong date.
