hi all, still plodding on looking to find my grandfather, not very far back compared to some of you guys, had an idea he was robert h girling, came across a strange entry on ancestry for robert h jennes with robert h girling in brackets, what could this mean do you think, born 1881 aldershot which is a good date for my guy, any thoughts?

I think he is actualy Robert H Goodman. Someone made a right mess of transcribing it.

Sounds as though it has been "corrected" by an ancestry member.

There is a correction posted which says "Robert H Goodman rather than Robert H Jennes
This is an army barracks but has been transcribed like a family and a lot people have been transcribed incorrectly as Jennes."
There are some Girlings a few pages along and the person who posted the corrections has sent in all the surnames but it looks as though the ancestry corrections process has given all the surnames to all the people!
