By 1861, Elms End is called Elmers End on the census - its modern name. I can't immediately find it in 1851, but I do wonder whether it always was Elmers, or if people found ELms End just too difficult to say!

My great-grandfather was born at Elmers End in 1862. His birth certificate said Elmore End, and he had it corrected later on.

I have an 1835 baptism for this family which says Elmer's End in the parish register. "Elms End" was quoted exactly from the 1841 census image, but I think it was just the enumerator's mistake.
