I've lost my link to the site which gives non-conformist births (Dr William's).

Could someone post it, please?

This is it:
http://www.bmdregisters.co.uk/

But worth looking on the IGI first.

Sorry not to reply sooner, Libby! I've been at the supermarket.

I knew the site has my Quintrells from Hampshire on it. So does the IGI. I wanted to add the christening of my 2xgt grandfather to the MMMF thread, which I have now done. I had a mental block and I couldn't remember the site name.

Ancestry now has a lot of the Dr Williams non-con births. I've come across several recently while filling in the details of my (remote) connections to Michael Faraday. They have come up in the listings when I did searches from FTM.

Can you give us an example of one that's on ancestry, please, Uncle John? I can't see them on there.

Thanks. Looks like it only covers 1804 - 1831 which would be why I didn't find my relly in there!

Elizabeth.....I see you have found them. I've got Mary, Thomas, Henry, in the 1820s. Do you have the images??

Hi Libby, I haven't got the images, I only did the search. My 2xgt grandfather John Quintrell is there somewhere, but I do believe that they transcribed his surname wrongly (Quinell or something similar). He was born in 1830. The others are his siblings.

On their way, Elizabeth. I love non-con records. You've got both birth and baptism dates.

Safely received, Libby! Many thanks. I would have downloaded them before if I knew how much information there was. I shall have to investigate the people present. One is a good Cornish name. Thomas and Elizabeth Quintrell came from St Blazey in Cornwall. He went to Portsmouth to work in the naval dockyard.

Well, Elizabeth...............there are Cornish ones as well.

I have just noticed something interesting.

Libby kindly sent me the images of the baptisms of the four Quintrell children. The ceremony was in each case carried out by
RUSSELL SCOTT

The oldest son, Thomas Quintrell, moved to London and married there. He and his wife Susannah named their third son
JOHN RUSSELL SCOTT QUINTRELL

I had always wondered where some of the second (and third) names came from. This is one little puzzle solved! (Thanks, Libby).
