I have got myself in a muddle with my Trusloves (or Trusslove, Trusslowe Trussler..). I left this branch after many weeks searching about 4 years ago, and have just got back to them again, and i cant rememember half of what i did.
I am looking for the marriage of Thomas Truslove (1834) to a Martha (1851?)
This is where i am so far.
Arthur Mycock married Mary J Truslove in 1894.
Now Mary's parents i have down as Thomas Truslove (1834) and a Martha (1851) But i cannot fathom out where i got this info from as i can't find any reference to it now on Ancestry, the IGI etc.
I have Thomas, born in Sawbridge Warwicks, and Martha in Kings Norton Worcestershire.
Mary was born in Princes End Staffs.

I have even tried all the martha's born in 1851 in Kings Norton, tried Kings Norton, Princes end ( and Tipton as it was part of that parish) and Sawbridge for marriages for Thomas Truslove.
I have tried the census' from 1881 when mary would have been about 7, and gone back to 1841 to try and track Thomas upwards.. but am just getting in more of a muddle.
can anyone help, please?

In 1901 Mary J Mycock is listed as 27 b Princes End, Staffordshire. I know it's her because her sister, Florence A 'Truelove', is with them.

This looks hopeful if Flora and Florence are the same person (Florence was 20 in 1901)

Thomas and Martha are older than you thought??

This looks like Florence/Flora's birth:

Births Jun 1881
TRUSLOVE Florence Ada Dudley 6c 70

In 1871 the oldest child is 5. Thomas' birthplace is still Lambourne, Warks but Martha's is Wednesbury Staffs.

Indeed Merry, i have just found the same as you in the 1881 census, but that of course throws me out again, as now lambourn Warwicks comes into play, and every time i type in lambourn it comes up as Berkshire.. well two Lambourns in Berkshire or 3? lambourn, Lambourne and chipping Lambourn.. sigh...
thanks so much for the help, you have ironed it out for me very nicely and i think i can work from there on..
Yes I had just realised Martha must be older than i had origianlly thought, but it ties in better with Thomas' age now.

Begger it why can't she make her mind up where she was born!

Best fit for marriage:

Marriages Dec 1865 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cooper George Birmingham 6d 129
Felton Emma Birmingham 6d 129
Quiney Martha Birmingham 6d 129
Truslow Thomas Birmingham 6d 129

This seems right as there's Martha Quiney b abt 1841 in Wednesbury on the 1851 census with her parents, Thomas and Sarah Quiney. They are in Aston Cantlow Warks.

I expect the enumerator just copied his place of birth twice from the householders form!
