Can anyone find this Rose marriage please?

David Rose, born Morayshire, marrying a Matilda Caroline Key sometime between 1841 & 1851 ? First child born about 1847 William Rose in Bermondsey, London/Surrey.

For ref here they are in 1851 :

Well its not on the LMA marriages, so maybe someone with Scottish records access can check there.

Can't see the marriage, but William Rose's baptism is in the LMA records on ancestry and he was born 8th Jan 1847.

There is no David Rose marrying a Matilda on Scotland's People, but anyway, since Matilda was born in Bermondsey and living there in 1851 it is more likely they would have married in England, isn't it?

No I can't find a Matilda Key marrying a David Rose on Scotland's People either :(

I can't find Elizabeth Rose's baptism, she was born on 20th May 1849 in St Mary Magdalene sub district so her baptism should be there as well.

Could the marriage be one that didn't get to the GRO ?

They might not have got round to having her baptised, Joan, or had her baptised in a church that isn't on ancestry yet?

Did Matilda definitely have a middle name? There's isn't one on the bap Kate found and I can't see a death.

Yes Merry, I found a baptism on the IGI that might fit, Matilda Caroline Key baptised 1811 parents Ralph & Maria, so that could be her, it just means that she lied a lot about her age :rolleyes:

I saw that, but unless she used the middle name at death I wouldn't think it that likely to be the right one! Do you have the birth cert for a child from this family?
