Thanks Ann, yes I've got that one bookmarked AND copied onto a word document. It's great isn't it?

Stephen married the miller's daughter. The Randall's had the mill for a couple of generations then it went on to the Burroughes' through this marriage.

My (very dubious) claim to fame was that James Blunt (Blount) was brought up in that mill ay Cley.;)

I was going to have a look at the Attleborough baptisms on FamilySearch RecordSearch to see if he was in there, but the pages won't load!

The ones on here - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tinstaafl/index.htm only go back to 1857 :(

He's not on the IGI either.

Any other ideas where to look?

Probably just have to wait till the FamilySearch RecordSearch pages get sorted out.

I don't know which pages you mean Kate  is that the LDS site? If so, I thought it used Hugh Wallis' info and Stephen's not on there.

Maybe I'm confused though....

Can I just point out that the IGI absolutely does not use Hugh Wallis's info, it's the other way round!

Anyway, I was talking about the new pilot site, FamilySearch RecordSearch, which has just made the images of loads of Norfolk parish registers available online:
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start

We have a thread about it with more info:
http://genealogistsforum.co.uk/Forum/showthread.php?t=3402

Unfortunately they seem to be having teething troubles with some of the parishes at the moment and I couldn't get the Attleborough baptism pages for around 1839 to load when I tried.

Sorry Kate - my mistake - old befuddled brain - I was sure it was shared transcripts and If I'd thought about it properly I'd not have made the mistake. :o

I'll go and look at the thread here now... :o:o
