There is a Reuben Page marriage to Mary Buckley 8 Jun 1834 on the IGI, but at St Mary, Bury, Lancashire, so probably not the right one.

Hi Kiterunner

yes, I have pondered over that one for a while, but it does seem a bit far from home.

Mary's 1841 census says she was born in Warwickshire, but I know that's not always accurate. I did consider that she might have been from Corley, as her son Joseph claimed to be born there (although he also claimed Birmingham !). I cannot find a definite death for her either, there are three in Birmingham in the 1841-46 period.

May be I should get Joseph's birth cert ? It should be the one in the Dec Q 0f 1840 Birmingham. I should have thought of it earlier, except I did not think that Mothers maiden name was on birth certs that early.

Yes, mother's maiden name was on the certs right from the start in 1837, it just wasn't on the index in those days.
