View Full Version : Help please in finding a birth

I am looking for the birth of Ethel Martha Maria DAVIS, who according to her marriage certificate was born in 1879. She married in Gloucester in 1918 and her father was given as Alfred Davis, a Canal Pilot. I have no idea where she was born though, but you would think with two middle names she would be easy to find, even with Davis as a surname! I’ve been tearing my hair out trying to find this one, so if anyone could offer any pointers I would be very grateful.

This is probably him in 1871 as well. His father is also a canal pilot.

I reckon this is the right one for 1841, the wife Maria is from Ireland as in 1851.
