Her birth was registered Jan - Mar 1838 St Thomas, vol 10 p 213, so if you order the certificate it should tell you her mother's maiden name.

Would Totnes be anywhere near Broadclyst, because I've found a death there for Ann Webber in 1915 (born 1838).

Thanks Kite, don't know how I missed that :(

I found that death, but discounted it as I don't know what she would be doing in Totnes. I haven't found any relatives there, and as far as I know she lived in Broadclyst all her life so I can't think why she wouldn't die there as well. Most of her children and their families also lived in and around Broadclyst.

Thanks to both of you for your help.

There's an Ann Webber death in St Thomas district in Apr-Jun 1920, age 83, which is only slightly out.

Thanks Kite, I think that must be her. She was born in early 1838 so the age would be right for Apr - June 1920. I'll get the refs and get ordering :)
