Following on from my Crotcher/Campbell/Cooper thread I have found the baptism for her; b. Oct 28 1848, mother's mmn Margaret McEwan/McEwen. Father was James Crotcher.
On Margaret McEwan's marriage entry to James Crotcher it lists her father's name as Dugald McEwan farmer from Kenmore Perthshire. I found her death in 1859, her mother's maiden name was Elisabeth Walker. The only entry for a Walker/McEwan marriage in Kenmore is 1747!! I am in two minds if the entry reads 1797 or 1747, but it looks like 1747 & has been transcribed as that on Familysearch.
I'm totally out of my depth here, my lack of knowledge of Scotland & the different places is poor, despite my DNA result apparently showing I have Scottish DNA it must have been as far back as the dinosaurs :d Also the misspelling & mis transcribing is even worse than Ancestry ;(
Can anyone find a marriage date that would be a proper fit as I doubt her mother was around 70 when she gave birth.
So anything for a Dugald McEwan (spelt everyway under the sun) marrying an Elisabeth Walker & a baptism for Margaret McEwan around 1811-25 that fits these parents names would be great, thanks! I have credits, I just need help finding a possible hit for either or both, thanks.
