Ah, and his name is Capelin on the marriage index. Her death is listed under Capelin - Margery Capelin, Apr-Jun 1942, Lewes, age 74.
I can't find that in free BDM anywhere - is there somewhere else i can search?

I imagine that Kiterunner found that on the transcribed deaths on Ancestry
1881 address is
14, Trevor Gardens, Beddingham
(Mum & Dad, sibs Melina Charity & Jane)
Alf looks to be the son of Mary Jane Upton & Jason Gosden, Marriages Mar 1882 Lewes 2b 256- Jason is transcribed as Gasden in 1881, a lodger in Brighton)
Trevor Gardens is still there although these days it's part of Glynde, it's just south of Glynde station. The houses are unusual in that their gardens are on the opposite side of the road. If you look on google maps you can see the cottages and behind Trevor Gdns is the chalkpit where Margary's father worked.
oh that's so good to know - i'll have a look on google maps! thanks for the heads up
I was in Lewes today so went and had a look for Margary's house in 1891 (3 Neville Terrace),it's still there. In 1891 they were numbered 1, 2, 3, etc but now they are 1,3,5 etc. I'm assuming theat the one with the green door (now number 5) was her house number 3 in 1891.

Margary's house is the left half. The garden on the front with the sun umbrella is part of the Trevor Arms pub.
Just spotted her baptism at Glynde

Margery Capelin (nee Upton) was my maternal great-grandmother. She was born in 1868 and died in 1942. Her father was Henry Upton (a labourer). She married Henry Capelin (1863 - 1940, labourer, son of Edward Capelin, labourer) on 23 Dec 1888, at St Anne's Church, Lewes. They had 8 children: Florence Frances (1889 - 1962, my grandmother); William Henry (1890); Ethel Kate (1893); Charles Frederick (1896) Louisa Annie (1899); Nellie (1902); Daisy (1904); and Dorothy (1908). Marriage cert describes Margery as a 'Servant'. Any leads would be welcome!
