Can someone with a Find My Past sub please have a look at a baptism for me? I have tried to buy the record but it won't let me for some reason. The baptism is for Ann Woodward in 1792 Ludbrough Lincolnshire. She is my ggg grandmother and various Ancestry trees have her with parents Luke Harness & Frances Woodard, presumably unmarried. I have a record that this information is from a Familysearch submitted tree, which is why I have never included it on my tree, but would like to know what this baptism actually says.

December the 25 Ann the illegitimate daughter of Luke Haines and Frances Woodward.

I think it might Haines and not Harmes but the writing is very faded.

These records were put on FMP some time ago when Lincs To the Past was active and there were real issues with them, which have never been addressed. They weren't indexed properly. I sent loads of emails but never had any replies.

Thank you both. Luke Harness is the name used in the trees and there are futher records for his marriage, although not to Frances, and his death, so I think the name is correct. It is interesting that the father was named, I'm not sure I have seen that before, which is why I was wary of putting it on my tree, until I could see where the info came from.

There is definitely only one s at the end of the surname. It could well be Harnes.

It's fairly common for the father of an illegitimate child to be named although it doesn't happen for most baptisms.

I've noticed a lot of different spellings, so it could be either way. Frances is shown on the Ancestry trees as Frances Woodard not Woodward. I think they just like to confuse us! :D

The clerk's spelling is quite basic, talking of Babtizms and Burrens, but there seem to be quite a few illegitimacies, with the fathers named.
