Flora Sarah Solomon

Flora Sarah Solomon was born in Mandeville Jamaica in or about 1845. Flora's parents were Philip Solomon and his wife Evelina. Philip was born in Exeter, Devon about 1813 and Evelina in Kingston Jamaica about 1824.

In 1851 The family were in Westminster St Margaret with Philip's parents Jacob and Sarah, but by 1861 the family was in Coventry.

Flora married Alfred Emmanuel Fridlander in London on 3 June 1863 and lived with him in Coventry, where she eventually died in MQ 1929.

I am looking to find Evelina's maiden name and something (anything?) about her family in Jamaica in order to fill in some gaps, but i don't really know where to start. There don't appear to be any Jamaican records on Ancestry, although there may be some on FMP.

There are Jamaican records on Ancestry. Also on FamilySearch. But I haven't managed to find anything about Evelina yet.

There is a public tree on Ancestry which has Evelina as Evelina Brandon born 4 Jan 1822, daughter of Abraham Pinto Brandon and Judith, with Evelina and Philip's marriage as 25 Sep 1842 Ashkenazi Jewish Congregation, Kingston, Jamaica.

FamilySearch has images of the Jewish birth register of Kingston but the images are not very good quality and some of it is in Hebrew:

You could look through and see if you can find Evelina's birth though. Hebrew Date Converter says that 4 Jan 1822 = 12 Tevet 5582. I think each entry has both the English and the Hebrew version but it is hard to make anything out.

Entry number 196. I don't think it gives bride's surname but it does show her father's name as Abraham. There are also some births earlier on in that file but again the quality of the images is bad so I will leave you to see if you can find Evelina's birth record.

I'm thinking maybe Evelina's birth record is under Pinto rather than Brandon or Abraham (since I looked at the A-F Ashkenazi births already and didn't find it) but I can't get the M-R births page to load at the moment to check.
